Safe Roads, Secured Life: Maharashtra Cops organise month-long road safety campaign

Nagpur: In a bid to spread awareness about road & traffic safety measures, the ‘Mahamarg Police Suraksha Rasta Abhiyan’ campaign has been launched across the state from January 18 to February 17 under the guidance of Dr.Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, Additional Director General of Police(Traffic).

The initiative aims to curb accidents on the highway is praiseworthy. Among different initiatives under the multi-agency campaign is identification and corrective measures at accident-prone sites and various awareness drives. The awareness campaign will run across the state from Monday, til February 17, with a theem ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha’ (Safe Roads, Secured Life).

An array of government bodies like traffic police, departments of transport, health and school education, road construction entities, local governing bodies, and educational institutions will conduct various programmes during the campaign.

“I urge everyone to contribute spontaneously to this campaign. I am also confident that this campaign to accentuate people to follow traffic rules will reduce the number of accidents,” said Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
