Nagpur wrestlers are champs
WRESTLERS of Nagpur district excelled in the recently held StateLevel Wrestling Competition which was organised at Rohaha in Bhandara. In the competition, which was organised to celebrate 72nd Republic Day, Nikita Nagpure defeated her city-mate Shital Sawalakhe to claim the title in open category.
In men’s competition, Dhyaneshwar Gadekar beat Kolhapur’s Amol Mundhe to win the crown. He was awarded with a cash purse of Rs 11,000 and a silver mace. Nagpur’s Kalyani, Ashita, Anjali, Prashita and Sheetal also won the titles. Nagpur district won the general championship.The prizes were given by Rajabhau Karemore, former MP Madhukarrao Kukde and others.
On the occasion, Ganesh Kohale, Vice-President, Maharashtra State Wrestling Association, Ramdas Sahare, President Bhandara District Wrestling Association, Dilip Itankar, Nilesh Raut, Mahesh Sahare, Ashok Bansod and others were also present.
