Pillion rider killed as e-rickshaw hits bike near Badkas Chowk
Nagpur: A Pillion rider was killed when a speeding e-rickshaw hit a motorcycle on which he was riding near Badkas Chowk in Kotwali Police Station area. The deceased was identified as Ramdayal Balchandra Rajak (53), a resident of Bhim Nagar, Old Jaripatka, near Itarasi Bridge, Nagpur.
According to police, Ramdayal was riding pillion on the motorcycle of his son Vinay Rajak (25) on Thursday night. The accident occurred at 9.45 pm when the two were heading towards Chitnis Park from Badkas Chowk. A speeding e-rickshaw came from opposite direction and hit the bike. Ramdayal and Vinay fell on the road. Ramdayal sustained grievous head injuries in the mishap.
He was admitted to Mayo Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. An offence under Sections 279, 304 (a) of Indian Penal Code read with Sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act was registered by Kotwali police. Further investigation is on.
