4 IT staff dead as rashly driven truck hits their vehicle near Mihan bridge
Nagpur: In yet another trail of accident owing to unruly trucks ferrying illegal sand, four employees of MIHAN-based Hexaware company were killed while one sustained severe injuries in the mishap that occurred in the wee hours of Friday, under Sonegaon Police Station.
Balchand Ukey (34), a resident of Chichbhuvan, Piyush Tekade (24), a resident of Koradi, Neha Gajbhiye (25), Uppalwadi, Payal Koche (27), a resident of Teka Naka were reportedly killed in the incident while Aashish Sarnalayan (27), a resident of Bokhara, Koradi road sustained severe injuries and has been rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), said police.
According to police sources, done with their night-shift, all the Hexaware employees were on their way to home in the wee hours of Friday morning. When their vehicle was crossing MIHAN bridge under Sonegaon Police Station, a recklessly driven truck ferrying illegal sand reportedly rammed their vehicle from the front. The impact was so severe that Balchand, Piyush, Neha and Payal died on the spot while Aashish survived the incident with grievous injuries.
In the meantime, Sonegaon police have registered a case under relevant Sections of IPC. Further investigations are on.
