2 of a family who returned from UK tests positive, total 3 so far
Nagpur: Two days after a person who returned from the UK tested positive from Covid-19 and also suspected to be infected from mutant form of coronavirus, two more people were found positive on Friday. The duo, a woman and her daughter who had returned from London along with her husband, has been admitted to the special ward at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Her husband was however tested negative.
On Wednesday, the first patient returning from the UK was detected. The woman, 42 and her daughter were reportedly asymptomatic. Bureau of immigration had sent a list of 78 air passengers who returned from countries in Europe, Middle East and South Africa between November 25 and December 23. Municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B directed zones to contact and visit them.
They found 39 of the 78 are in the city, including four who tested positive. Remaining 39 are not residing in the city, but their address on the passport is of the city so the immigration authorities sent their names to NMC.
As many as 38 persons who had travelled were asked to get tested. Eight flyers were tested on Thursday of which results of two females were positive and the remaining six were negative. Results of the remaining 30 air passengers are expected to come on Saturday.The two females are residents of Trimurti Nagar.
